Beginning Ballet: A beginning ballet class for ages 5 and up typically introduces young dancers to the fundamentals of both styles in a fun, engaging, and age-appropriate way. The class aims to develop coordination, balance, musicality, and a love for dance, while also fostering self-confidence and social skills.
Pre-Intermediate: A ballet class for ages 8 and up typically serves as a bridge between foundational ballet training and more advanced work. It's designed for students who have a solid grasp of basic ballet vocabulary and are ready to increase their technical proficiency, strength, and artistry.
Intermediate/Advanced Ballet: Dancers ages 8 & up focus on building a strong foundation in ballet technique, while also developing coordination, musicality, and grace through more challenging routines and combinations. Students will refine their understanding of ballet steps, positions, and terminology, and begin to incorporate more complex movements like port de bras and epaulement.
Adv. Ballet/ Pointe: Our Ballet 4/5-Pointe class is a serious and advanced level of training designed for dedicated dancers who are ready for the rigorous demands of pointe work. Adult Ballet/Barre: Adult Barre is a nonperforming class that takes place entirely at the barre. Great for anyone that wishes to enhance their posture, fitness level, and classical ballet technique in a welcoming studio environment. This beginner friendly class is open to teens (with director approval/parent permission) all the way to silver swans. Expect to sweat!
Adult Ballet: Our adult ballet class is an artistic session designed for mature dancers to build strength, flexibility, and grace in a supportive, low-pressure environment. Dancers begin at the barre and move to center floor to focus on body alignment, core stability, and musicality tailored to adult anatomy and fitness goals. All levels are welcome. Many of our adults perform in our annual production of the Nutcracker as parents and our spring showcase where they perform a beautiful center floor routine! Miss Trinity may even surprise us with a little jazz routine for fun!
Lyrical Ballet: Lyrical dance is a style that blends ballet and jazz techniques to express emotions and tell stories through fluid, expressive movements, often performed to music with lyrics. It emphasizes conveying the feeling and meaning of the music through the dancer's body language and facial expressions.
Contemporary/Jazz: Contemporary Jazz dance is a versatile and expressive dance style that emerged in the mid-20th century, blending elements of ballet, modern dance, jazz, and other genres. It's characterized by its fluidity, freedom of movement, and emphasis on emotional expression. Unlike strict, codified dance forms, contemporary jazz dance encourages individual interpretation and innovation, constantly evolving and adapting. This class is open to our intermediate/advanced dance team students only and students will be placed by the director.
